Judging

The Organizing Committee of the competition shall appoint tasting panels consisting of at least three to five members, composed of experts in spirits. Each panel is chaired by a renowned taster, enologist, or a generally recognized expert in spirits. Their role is to coordinate the panel’s activities and ensure the accuracy and fairness of the sample evaluation process.
- For the purpose of promoting the competition, the Organizing Committee may also establish parallel tasting panels composed of sponsors, journalists, and other public figures – enthusiasts of spirits.
- Their evaluations will be for informational purposes only.
- All evaluators, including panel chairs, will be informed only of the category and vintage of the spirit.
- The fundamental principle of evaluation is anonymity.

Samples, marked with assigned competition numbers, are presented fully covered, with no possibility of identification, individually, and in an optimal sequence.

The tasting begins with so-called light spirits, followed by traditional spirits, non-traditional spirits, dessert spirits, grain-based spirits, and concludes with borovička and gin

At the beginning of the evaluation day, the judges are introduced to a calibration sample, which has been given an overall score by the Organizing Committee prior to the competition. This calibration serves to set evaluation criteria and harmonize scoring across individual judges and panels.

For the purposes of promotion and organization, the Organizer appoints an Organizing Committee led by the President of the competition.

Competition spirits are presented for evaluation at a temperature of 16 to 20°C.
